Amitriptyline Compounded transdermal comes in a Topi-CLICK Micro transdermal pen, a revolutionary way to easily and accurately and dose transdermal medications. Amitriptyline requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

What is the most important information I should know about Amitriptyline Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
This transdermal gel provides amitriptyline, a medication that may be prescribed by a veterinarian for certain pain or behavioral conditions in pets. Important: A veterinary prescription is required. Regular veterinary monitoring is essential.
How should Amitriptyline Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen be given/administered?
Step 1:Unscrew the cap. Put aside for recapping after use. Step 2:Hold the applicator in an upright position, then turn (click) the base the number of mLs shown on the prescription label. Please Note: The Audible, Tactile, and Visual CLICK points of the triad shaped base must be used as dosing indicators. Align the Base and Triad Tube to fully dispense each dose. Step 3: Use the built-in applicator to apply medication as directed by your veterinarian or pharmacist. Rub continually until preparation has saturated the prescribed areas of your pet's fur. Please Note: The built-in applicator minimizes the chance of the medication spreading to unintended areas. It is not necessary to use your fingertips to apply this medication. Step 4: To prevent evaporation, screw the cap back on when finished with each dosage. Be sure the cap is tightly secured.
What are the potential side effects of Amitriptyline Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
Potential Side Effects include sedation, dry mouth, constipation, urinary retention, changes in heart rate. Always consult your Veternarian for accurate diagnosis, treatment, and guidance.
What happens if I miss giving a dose of Amitriptyline Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
If you miss a dose, give it when you remember; however, if it is close to time for the next dose, skip the dose you missed, give it at the next scheduled time, and return to the regular dosing schedule. Never give your pet two doses at once or give extra doses.
What happens if I overdose my pet on Amitriptyline Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
If you suspect an overdose or an adverse reaction to the medication, call your veterinary office immediately. If they are not available, follow their directions in contacting an emergency facility.
What other drugs will affect Amitriptyline Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
The following medications should be used with caution when given with amitriptyline: acetazolamide/dichlorphenamide, alpha-2 adrenergic agonists, amantadine, ammonium chloride, anesthetic agents, antiarrhythmics, anticholinergic agents, antihypertensive agents, anthracyclines, apomorphine, azole antifungals, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, beta-2 agonists, bethanechol, bromocriptine, buspirone, carbamazepine, cetirizine, cimetidine, cisapride, clonidine, cyproheptadine, desmopressin, diazoxide, divalproex, dobutamine/dopamine/ephedrine, epinephrine, norepinephrine, domperidone, estrogens, fluoroquinolones, hydroxychloroquine, ifosfamide, iohexol, leuprolide, levetiracetam, lithium, macrolides, methylphenidate, metoclopramide, metronidazole, monoamine oxidase inhibitors, muscle relaxants, nitroglycerine/nitroprusside/phenoxybenzamine/tamsulosin, non-DHP calcium channel blockers, NSAIDs, octreotide, opioids, pergolide, phenothiazines, phenytoin, physostigmine, potassium chloride, pregabalin, primidone/phenobarbital, rifampin, rufinamide, selective-serotonin reuptake inhibitors, serotonin receptor antagonists, sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim, sulfonylureas, sympathomimetic agents, terbinafine, thyroid agents, tramadol, trazodone, valproic acid, vasopressin, warfarin, yohimbine, and zonisamide. Be sure to tell your veterinarian about any medications (including vitamins, supplements, or herbal therapies) that your pet is taking.
