Mirtazapine was created to treat depression in humans, but is most beneficial to stimulate appetite in pets suffering from a variety of illnesses. Mirtazapine Compounded transdermal comes in a Topi-CLICK Micro transdermal pen, a revolutionary way to easily and accurately and dose transdermal medications. Mirtazapine Compounded requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

Mirtazapine Compounded transdermal comes in a Topi-CLICK Micro transdermal pen, a revolutionary way to easily and accurately and dose transdermal medications. Mirtazapine Compounded requires a prescription from your veterinarian.

What is the most important information I should know about Mirtazapine Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
While Mirtazapine Transdermal helps stimulate appetite and reduce nausea, it's crucial to address the underlying cause of the inappetence. This medication doesn't solve the primary health problem.
How should Mirtazapine Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen be given/administered?
Step 1:Unscrew the cap. Put aside for recapping after use. Step 2:Hold the applicator in an upright position, then turn (click) the base the number of mLs shown on the prescription label. Please Note: The Audible, Tactile, and Visual CLICK points of the triad shaped base must be used as dosing indicators. Align the Base and Triad Tube to fully dispense each dose. Step 3: Use the built-in applicator to apply medication as directed by your veterinarian or pharmacist. Rub continually until preparation has saturated the prescribed areas of your pet's fur. Please Note: The built-in applicator minimizes the chance of the medication spreading to unintended areas. It is not necessary to use your fingertips to apply this medication. Step 4: To prevent evaporation, screw the cap back on when finished with each dosage. Be sure the cap is tightly secured.
What are the potential side effects of Mirtazapine Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
Potential Side Effects include vocalization, restlessness, agitation, increased appetite, behavioral changes. Always consult your Veternarian for accurate diagnosis, treatment, and guidance.
What happens if I miss giving a dose of Mirtazapine Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
If you miss a dose, give it when you remember; however, if it is close to time for the next dose, skip the dose you missed, give it at the next scheduled time, and return to the regular dosing schedule. Never give your pet two doses at once or give extra doses.
What happens if I overdose my pet on Mirtazapine Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
If you suspect an overdose or an adverse reaction to the medication, call your veterinary office immediately. If they are not available, follow their directions in contacting an emergency facility.
What other drugs will affect Mirtazapine Compounded Transdermal Topi-CLICK® Gel Pen?
Pets that are allergic or hypersensitive to mirtazapine should not take it. Do not use in pets that have taken monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) in the past 14 days. Mirtazapine should be used cautiously in patients with liver, kidney, or heart disease, and a lower dose may be recommended for these cases. Pets with a history of leukemia, diabetes, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, low platelets, or any blood disease should use mirtazapine cautiously, and blood test monitoring may be recommended. Use cautiously in pregnant or nursing animals. MAOIs such as amitraz (Mitaban®) or selegiline (Anipryl®, Eldepryl®, Carbex®), tricyclic antidepressants such as clomipramine (Clomicalm®, Anafranil®), and serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as fluoxetine (Prozac®) may interact with mirtazapine and can cause many of the side effects listed above. Other drugs that can interact with mirtazapine include tramadol (Ultram®) and other pain medications, diazepam (Valium®)), and cimetidine (Tagamet®), and should be used with caution. Be sure to tell your veterinarian about any medications (including vitamins, supplements, or herbal therapies) that your pet is taking.

Apply the gel to a hairless area of the inner ear and wear gloves to avoid accidental absorption, which can cause drowsiness in humans.
