POMPANO BEACH, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 2000--PetMed Express, Inc. (OTCBB:PETS) today announced that it had recently hired Richard Kersh as its information systems (IS) director. Prior to joining PetMed Express, Mr. Kersh had been employed by Lens Express, Inc., a leading direct marketer of replacement contact lenses, eye care solutions and designer sunglasses, in a variety of positions including IS Director (November 1998 until July 2000), Project Manager (March 1996 until October 1998), Sales Trainer (July 1995 until February 1996) and Sales Staff/Coach (June 1994 until June 1995). Mr. Kersh received a B.S. in Marketing from the University of Florida in 1994.
Also joining the PetMed Express' IS team were Dean Preiser and Chris Digiacomo, who were both employed by Lens Express, Inc. prior to joining PetMed Express. Mr. Preiser's responsibilities at Lens Express included phone system administration and network maintenance. Mr. Digiacomo's responsibilities at Lens Express included lead programming for the website, database management, and system and network administration. PetMed Express' President and COO, Chris Lloyd, stated, "We are excited to have this team working with us at PetMed Express because of the similarity of our business model as compared to Lens Express'. Their experience with the information systems required to support mail order and Internet customer acquisition campaigns will be of great value".
